European equities inch higher on rate cut hopes.

European equities inched higher on Monday as investors remained hopeful for potential rate cuts from the U.S. Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank. The pan-European STOXX 600 gained 0.2%, with Eurozone banks adding 0.3%. UK shares also started the week on a positive note as bets for the U.S. Federal Reserve to cut rates as early as March increased. Both the FTSE 100 and the FTSE 250 index climbed 0.2%.
