Rare Tibetan brown bear sighted in Sikkim.

A rare Tibetan brown bear, one of the world's rarest subspecies of bears, has been spotted in North Sikkim, India. The distinctive bear, known as Ursus arctos pruinosus, was captured on camera traps in Mangan district last month. The Tibetan brown bear inhabits high-altitude alpine forests, meadows, and steppes above 4,000 meters, surviving on marmots and alpine vegetation. Its sighting underscores the need to preserve the region's biodiversity. Previous sightings of this elusive and rarely observed bear have been limited to Nepal, Bhutan, and the Tibetan plateau.
