Ridge Alkonis reunites with family following release by U.S. Parole Commission.

U.S. Navy Lt. Ridge Alkonis, who was detained for 537 days, was released after a review of a car crash near Mount Fuji in Japan. Alkonis claimed he lost consciousness after a hike, but a Japanese judge ruled he fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of his vehicle, causing the deaths of an 85-year-old woman and her 54-year-old son-in-law. Alkonis was sentenced to three years in prison for negligence, but his family argued it was unjustifiable.
