An inmate at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, identified as 36-year-old Michael Anthony Holland, has died after being found unresponsive in his cell. Holland was being held on charges of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer. The Atlanta Police Department will conduct a death investigation and the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy on Holland. Ten people died in Fulton County custody last year, and the Justice Department's civil rights division has previously announced an investigation into jail conditions in the county, citing violence, filthy conditions, and the death of a man whose body was found covered in insects last year.
