The United States government has reached a budget agreement that will allow it to stay within the spending cap.

Congressional leaders, including Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson and Democrat leaders, reached an agreement on setting a federal spending limit of $1.6 trillion for fiscal year 2024. The deal aims to prevent a government shutdown as Presidential elections near this year. The negotiations took several weeks, and the agreement includes $886 billion for defense spending and $704 billion for non-defense spending.
