Scientists have discovered that bottled water contains up to 100 times more plastic than previously estimated, with an average liter containing around 240,000 detectable plastic fragments. The researchers found microscopic pieces of plastic, called nanoplastics, by probing samples with lasers tuned to make specific molecules resonate.
