South Korea plans to launch two more military spy satellites this year to monitor North Korea, potentially escalating the inter-Korean space race. The Defence Acquisition Programme Administration (DAPA) announced the launch of two synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in April and November. The plan is to place four more SAR satellites into orbit by 2025.
