Every Indian air operator is required to perform a one-time examination of the Boeing 737-8 Max aircraft's emergency exits.
The Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered all Indian airlines operating Boeing 737-8 Max aircraft to conduct a one-time inspection of their emergency exits, following the Alaska Airlines incident where a section of the plane's fuselage fell off mid-flight. Although no Indian carriers fly the Boeing 737-9 Max, three domestic operators, Akasa Air, Air India Express, and SpiceJet, use the Boeing 737-8 Max.
