Astronomers have discovered that the planets Neptune and Uranus are not as blue as previously thought.
A study published in the Royal Astronomical Society suggests that the planets of Neptune and Uranus, which are often portrayed as cold blue due to a spacecraft flyby over 30 years ago, are more similar in color to a greenish blue. The research team used data from instruments on the Hubble Space Telescope and the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope to record the spectrum of colors for each pixel, revealing that these distant planets are more similar in color to a greenish blue.
