Russell Coleman, the outgoing attorney general of Kentucky, was sworn in as the state's new treasurer and attorney general.

On New Year's Day, Kentucky's new treasurer, Mark Metcalf, and AG commissioner, Jonathan Shell, were sworn in at a ceremony in Lancaster. Shell aims to continue the excellence set by previous AG commissioners and focus on economic development in rural areas. Russell Coleman has also taken office as Kentucky's 52nd Attorney General in a private ceremony in Oldham County, where he previously served as a prosecutor.
