The Australian Government has announced a series of measures to boost apprenticeships and vocational education and training.

The Albanese Government and State and Territory Governments have signed a National Skills Agreement, releasing up to $30 billion for vocational education and training (VET) sector funding. This agreement aims to create certainty for the VET sector and ensure it is fit for purpose. Additionally, the Australian Apprenticeship Priority List has been expanded to include 19 new occupations, including ambulance officers, nursing support workers, and out-of-school-hours carers, to help apprentices and trainees with cost of living pressures and support completions in these priority occupations.
